Chicana Triptych

Catherine Oscullo embodies the figure of La Llorona. The myth of La Llorona has many iterations, but typically tells the tale of a mother who drowns her children in

a fit of rage, and whose ghost grief-strickenly wanders the streets crying their names. She has been reclaimed by Chicanas as a female anti-hero. Catherine wears a WED dress, cape (worn as a veil), and gloves, as well as Paula Canovas del Vas shoes. She also carries a hand- painted candle made specifically for the editorial.
