Rihanna celebrated the upcoming release of her Savage x Fenty Show, Volume 3 fashion show on Amazon Prime last night in New
York City in—what else—lingerie. Rihanna also debuted blunt bangs on the red carpet and stepped out in lace shorts, a black plunge halter top, and sheer black lace stockings. She accessorized with heels, stacked bracelets, and layered necklaces.
Rihanna spoke to Entertainment Tonightabout performing during the special—and the challenges that come from doing so in a restrictive clothing. “It's not easy in a corset! I had to make it work!” she said with a laugh. “But it's my way of just being part of my show. Maybe I won't do it every single time, but I like to be in there a little bit.”
Rihanna also spoke to ELLE.com in 2018 about how she picks models for her Savage x Fenty shows. “I wanted to include every woman,” she said. “I wanted every woman on the stage with different energies, different races, body types, different stages in their womanhood, culture. I wanted women to feel celebrated and that we started this shit. We own this. This is our land, because really, it is. Women are running the world right now and it’s too bad for men.”
She added with regard to how she helps herself maintain her confidence, saying, “To be honest, I pray a lot because any negativity is just the devil trying to ruin my day. My core is always gonna be there, you are gonna be you every single day of your life and nobody can take that from you. Whether it’s your sexiness or confidence, it’s gonna be there. I am a savage so everything I do is gonna be savage. Savage is not about looking sexy, it’s not about the product—it’s all about you. It’s all about how you feel. You cannot fake sexy, what you need to do is find it. Clear all that negative shit out, get to your sexy, and own it—that shit is yours.”
