How Meghan Markle Dresses Off-Duty for a Fall Double Date: Tan Trench, Sweater, Leather Pants and Heels

Meghan Markle isn't often photographed by paparazzi in California, but on Tuesday, fans got a rare glimpse of her off-duty date night style. The Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince

Harry went out with Katharine McPhee and David Foster in Montecito to Lucky's steak house.

Meghan opted for a very fall outfit for the outing: a tan trench, a long camel sweater, and cropped leather pants. She wore orange mule heels with it and a mask because COVID-19 remains very much still a thing. Her hair was down and in waves, and the Duchess draped her trench over her shoulders. Daily Mail has more photos of her outfit here.

McPhee and Meghan actually knew each other long before either were famous. The girls went to Immaculate Heart High School together in Los Angeles. McPhee posted a throwback photo of them on her Instagram in January 2019. "Meghan and I did musicals together as kids," she wrote. "She grew up to be the Duchess of Sussex and I grew up to star on the West End, so same life if you ask me. #TBT."

In March 2019, Meghan and McPhee reunited at London's WE Day event. McPhee told the Evening Standardat the time that she had invited Meghan and her husband Harry to watch her perform in Waitress on West End. (Meghan was pregnant with Archie at the time.)

“She was lovely and she remembered me, she remembered my sister more specifically because they were in the same class, and she said, ‘I’m just sitting around waiting for the baby to come,’" McPhee said. "I’d like her to come to the show—but no pressure on her, I’m hoping she will and I’m going to invite her through some mutual friends."

E! reported in January that McPhee and Foster helped Meghan and Harry find the home they stayed in when they were living in Canada. Foster told Daily Mail at the time that "I felt honored that I was able to help Meghan there, because I'm a Canadian and we're a commonwealth country, we're the Crown's. It's important to us, so I grew up with that kind of sentiment. I was really happy to be able to help them to find a respite just to take a little time off."
