If the real world isn't offering up enough scares, allow Netflix's The Haunting of Bly Manor, a sort-of second installment of 2018's Haunting of Hill House, to enter the chat. The
nine-episode series, based on Henry James's The Turn of the Screw, introduces a collective of cursed new characters who orbit around Victoria Pedretti's Dani Clayton. She's a governess who has the misfortune of playing Mary Poppins to a host of creepy kids in a decidedly haunted house. Pedretti returns to the Haunted franchise from the first season, as do a host of other actors.
Ahead, a look at each of the show's cast members, and which mysterious character they play.
The Haunting of… Returning Cast Members
Victoria Pedretti as Dani Clayton
Pedretti is no stranger to a haunting premise. She returns to the Haunting series after her season 1 debut as tortured Nell. This time she plays Dani, who brings her own demons to to Bly Manor's house of horrors. The actress also starred as the object of stalker Joe (Penn Badgley)'s affections in Netflix's You and as Manson family member Lulu in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Perhaps time for a comedy?
Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Peter Quint
Cohen, who plays the troubled Peter after his season 1 turn as Luke Crain, is also familiar with the horror genre. Earlier this year, he co-starred alongside Elisabeth Moss in the horror thriller The Invisible Man. Other credits include a 10-episode arc on Dracula and 2012's The Raven.
Henry Thomas as Henry Wingrave
If the show's patriarch looks slightly familiar, you're either remembering his season 1 performance as Hugh Crain, or his star-making childhood turn in E.T. After playing Elliott in 1982, Thomas has built a decades-long career in entertainment. Recent projects include Ouija: Origin of Evil, Doctor Sleep, and Gerald's Game—basically, all the scary stories.
Carla Gugino as The Narrator
Gugino, whose role in Bly Manor is being kept closely guarded, co-starred with Thomas in Gerald's Game. She also played Olivia Crain in The Haunting of Hill House and regularly shows up in a variety of movies and TV shows. Her credits include Troop Beverly Hills, Watchmen, Spy Kids, and Son in Law, which is likely playing on a CMT channel right now.
Kate Siegel as Viola Lloyd
Siegel is the final returning cast member from The Haunting of Hill House season 1, in which she played Theo. She's married to show creator Mike Flanagan in real life and the couple has collaborated on several productions including Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Gerald's Game.
Season 2's New Cast Members
T'Nia Miller as Hannah Grose
Miller plays Mrs. Grose, the kindly housekeeper of Bly Manor. She joins the series after roles in high-profile British series Sex Education, Doctor Who, and Years and Years.
Amelia Eve as Jamie
Eve plays Bly Manor's groundskeeper Jamie. This is her first major role, following performances in several short films and an episode of the 2017 comedy series Enterprise.
Rahul Kohli as Owen
Kohli, known for roles in iZombie, Supergirl, and the animated Harley Quinn series, plays chef Owen in the show. His character also sports facial hair that people are already talking about.
Tahirah Sharif as Rebecca Jessel
Sharif plays the mysteries Miss Jessel in Bly Manor. Previously, she starred in the BBC drama Casualty, The Invisible Woman alongside Felicity Jones, and the Netflix trilogy A Christmas Prince.
Amelie Bea Smith as Flora Wingrave
This 9-year-old actress will play one of the two children who inhabit Bly Manor. Prior to her haunting role on the show, she had roles on BBC's EastEnders and the hit animated series Peppa Pig.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Miles Wingrave
The other Wingrave child at the center of Bly's mysteries is Miles, played by newcomer Ainsworth. This is his first major role and an important force behind the season's mystery, if trailers are any indication.
