Kim Kardashian attended Kanye West's concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Thursday, where West was performing for the first time in years with rapper Drake. The “Free Larry Hoover”
benefit concert was a big deal to West, and a source told E! News that it was an even bigger deal to have Kardashian there.
Kardashian accompanied the ex-couple's children, North West and Saint West, bringing their cousin Mason Disick, too. Kendall Jenner and her boyfriend and NBA star Devin Booker were also there, along with her mother Kris Jenner and Jenner's boyfriend Corey Gamble.
The insider told E!, “It seemed to mean a lot to him that they were there—especially that Kim was there.”
West was able to spend some time with his kids and his ex in a VIP room preceding the show.
“The only thing that mattered to Kanye was that Kim and her people were taken care of,” the source continued. “It was very important to him that Kim was all good and he made it clear that was a priority. He'd been talking about how he just wants his family back.”
West has been talking about wanting Kardashian back quite a lot in public as well, and even made a plea to her from the stage. He changed the lyrics from his hit “Runaway” to say, “I need you to run right back to me. More specifically, Kimberly.”
The next day, however, Kardashian filed documents to make her legally single and to officially request the “West” be dropped from her last name.
The former couple does frequently offer one another support, despite their differences. They recently traveled to Miami together to attend the funeral of fashion icon Virgil Abloh, with whom West had a close working relationship. West was also in New York in the week leading up to Kardashian's hosting gig at Saturday Night Live as she prepared for the role.
“Kim likes keeping the peace between her and Kanye and it was better off this way,” a source said of their trip to Miami. “She and Kanye are still on good terms.”
