Whether you want to socialise with friends this party season, or simply stay at home, there’s no reason you shouldn’t dress up in your favourite party shoes: I guarantee they’ll make
you feel 100 times better.
For your normal day to day business, there are stylish winter boots and ankle boots to tick all your autumn trends. But the festive season is your time to shine, literally.
There is no better time for all you maximalists out there to adorn your feet with sequins, jewels, feathers and pearls, paired with your favourite party dresses for that more-is-more vibe. I’m especially loving the PVC trend, which Amina Muaddi and Jimmy Choo are excelling at this season.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t something out there for the minimalists at heart though. I’m still seeing plenty of paired-back strappy sandals and satin pumps in classic shades of black and red.
After over a year of intermittent lockdowns, comfort might be a prerequisite for you, and I’m pleased to say there are still plenty of kitten and low heels around. I’m particularly loving Prada’s ladylike slingbacks and Manu Atelier’s low sandals.
For that chunky, 90s feel, block heels are still very much de rigueur this season, as seen at Nodelato and The Attico.

Block heels are ultimately easier to walk in than stilettos, but if you’re genuinely looking for shoes that won’t leave your feet sore by the end of the night, then flats are a safe bet. You’d be surprised by how fancy they can get, from velvet loafers to embellished ballet flats, here are some of my faves. Manolo Blahnik and Boden have some amazing bejewelled styles.
