The Morning Show Season 3: What We Know So Far

The Morning Show is coming back.

Though the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ drama was originally picked up for two seasons, it's been renewed for a third, this time with Charlotte Stoudt

joining as a new showrunner. Stoudt, who has written for shows including House of Cards, Homeland, and Fosse/Verdon, succeeds Kerry Ehrin in the role. Ehrin will still stick around as a consultant, according to Variety. There is no release date yet.

“I’m excited to be joining forces with Apple TV Plus and The Morning Show,” Stoudt said in a statement to the outlet. “The cast, led by the phenomenal Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, are truly to die for. Kerry, Mimi and Michael, and the teams at Media Res, Hello Sunshine and Echo Films, have created an irresistible world that is equally delicious and provocative.”

Aniston and Witherspoon lead as anchors Alex and Bradley on the titular morning program, which is under crisis after one of its famous hosts (played by Steve Carrell) was accused of sexual misconduct. The second season more deeply explores the aftermath of the scandal, as well as how the news organization weathers the changing political climate.

Other members of the cast include Billy Crudup (Cory Ellison), Mark Duplass (Chip Black), Karen Pittman (Mia Jordan), Desean Terry (Daniel Henderson), Nestor Carbonell (Yanko Flores), and season 2 additions Greta Lee (Stella Bak) and Julianna Margulies (Laura Peterson).

Though plot points for The Morning Show season 3 are unconfirmed, Ehrin previously shared her hopes for the future of the series, hinting that there could be a “time jump” heading into the next chapter.

She added, “Well, I definitely want to see more of Bradley and Laura. I feel like Alex has come to a place for the first time since the pilot of accepting who she is and facing her worst fears, and I want to see how the phoenix rises from the ashes for her, and learning how to have a full life and be present and loving.”
