1. Kanye West documentary to premiere on Netflix on February 16
Netflix has described the Kanye West documentary as a “once in a lifetime three-week global event” and it will chronicle the entirety of the rapper’s colorful and at times controversial career. Act 1 of the documentary will also be released in cinemas on 10 February and will feature never-before seen footage of Kanye West in the studio and performing.
A newly released trailer for the documentary shows Kanye West in the studio back in 2002 embroiled in an argument about whether he is a genius or not. The teaser clip also sees West, 44, in the studio with music stars such as Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams and Kid Cudi.

Over the past few days, Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel has repeatedly made he news regarding his music. Following the release of his last EP, Barnabas, fans are anticipating the release of Vado’s fourth studio album, Afro-Classic.
Over the weekend, Buju tweeted that, “Kizz Daniel and I were recording, and he paused to sing, “as long as the Hennessy for my cup e never finish, wetin I feel I go talk am finish…” then says “Ki lo ma n worry e bobo yi…” He was also seen on a video, sharing love with the popular Wande Coal.
3. Maya Angelou Becomes First Black Woman to be Featured on an a American currency

The late Maya Angelou has made history by becoming the first Black woman ever to appear on a US quarter. The newly designed coin went into circulation on Monday, January 10. According to a press release from the United States Mint, the coin is the first in a series that will feature prominent women in American history.
The coin features an image of Angelou with arms uplifted, a bird in flight, and a rising sun behind her. The US Mint said the image of Angelou was “inspired by her poetry and symbolic of the way she lived.” The renowned activist and author wrote 36 books, including her most notable work, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings during which she discussed the racial discrimination she faced while growing up. She died in 2014 at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at 86-years-old.
4. South Africa: Aaron Moloisi launches international digital radio channel
Aaron Moloisi is making legendary moves with the launch of his international digital radio. South African media personality and businessman Aaron Moloisi expands his horizons as he ventures into the world of radio. Taking to social media this week, Moloisi, issued a statement announcing the launch of his international online radio channel, Legend Radio, which is set to broadcast in over 12 countries, starting from January 15.
The station will broadcast in eight languages including isiZulu, isiXhosa, Portuguese, Deutsch, English and Afrikaans.
5. Nigeria defeats Egypt in first AFCON game

Nigeria started their campaign at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win over Egypt on Tuesday. Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal that separated the teams in Garoua as the 2019 bronze medallists extended their dominance over the North Africans.
Austin Eguavoen opted for Iheanacho and Union Berlin’s Taiwo Awoniyi to lead Nigeria’s frontline owing to the absence of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis and Al Shabab’s Odion Ighalo. Nigeria climbed to the top of Group D table with three points and they will hope to build on the win when they face Sudan on Saturday.
