The makeup world was once infiltrated with full coverage, sharp brows, and intense contouring. But fast forward to 2022, and we’re now solidly witnessing the direct opposite which is termed “soft glam.
” It seems to us that everyone within the beauty space suddenly got bit by the minimalist bug, and the result is an irresistible display of subtle, effortless makeup. Of course, we’re loving all of it!
The soft glam makeup trend began to gently hit sometime in 2020, and ever since then, makeup artists have gotten very creative with the trend. In addition, beauty YouTubers have taken it upon themselves to share their expertise on how anyone, including complete beginners, can achieve the minimalist look.
From the look of things, this trend is going nowhere so now is surely a great time to try your hands on it. Unlike the heavy face beat, this look involves a non-cakey matte look and airbrushed skin but does not necessarily focus on neutral colors alone. The number one thing you need to achieve the soft glam makeup trend is the right blending skills, while the creative integration of the shades creates the soft effect.
Popular beauty YouTuber and influencer, Jackie Aina has shared her take and is showing us how to achieve the soft glam makeup trend on a budget.
Jackie achieved this look using all drugstore products, so you do not have to use high-end products to nail the soft glam look. Although it takes patience and practice to get it right, it’s definitely doable, and of course, practice makes perfect!
If you have been spotting this trend on your timeline and would love to learn, well, you’re welcome.
