S
trong, fearless, and confident are some of the words synonymous with the beauty options Black women opted for last week. From varying takes of subtle to unapologetic displays of glam, women
of color certainly gave more than required. Maybe it was Fashion Week that inspired the mood, or the gazillion celebrations that sought their attention which required some serious slay, we don’t know. However, one thing is certain: the beauty stage is set and we’re hooked in week after week.
The Looks
Multimedia personality, Porsha Williams oozed A-grade confidence as she struck a pose in the one-month celebration of her national bestselling book, The Pursuit of Porsha. The mother-of-one opted for a look consisting of subtle hues that very well flattered her skin tone. Dark eyes, nude lips, thick brows, and a well-blended contour came together for one cohesive look. Surely, this look is one for the books.
There’s something undeniably addictive about dark-skinned women, but if you ever doubted, Tolu Bally is certainly your clarification. The Nigerian fashion designer embraced the full glory of her melanin with a look that put her skin in focus. Her barely-there makeup was simple enough to catch our attention, yet charming enough to hold our gaze.
Hair
Blonde seems to be picking up steam, and we’re totally here for it. Last week, we spotted a number of stunning blonde hairstyles however, our fave by far was Sheléa Frazier. The singer opted for a chin-grazing wavvy hairdo with center-part that definitely complemented her outfit and skin tone.
