Three months after news of Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik's breakup and Malik pleading no contest to four charges of criminal harassment against Hadid and her mother, the two co-parents' relationship
is improving, Us Weeklyreports.
A source told the outlet that Hadid and Malik, who share one-year-old daughter Khai, are “on amicable terms.”
The two are trying to keep details private to protect Khai's privacy, the source said, adding that “Gigi and Zayn are getting along just fine. They’ve been in each other’s lives in some way or another for the past few weeks.”
Malik is working to show Hadid that he is a “responsible father,” the source said. “There is no custody battle going on right now—they’re just trying to work things out as coparents.”
In November, a source told E! that despite Malik and Hadid's six-year on-off romantic past, this breakup marks the end of their love story. Hadid “is done with Zayn for good,” the source said.
Hadid's priority is working with Malik so they have a healthy co-parenting relationship. Hadid's mother, with whom Malik had an alleged dispute that resulted in the criminal charges, wasn't fully on board.
A source close to Hadid told Peoplethen that“Yolanda is very upset with Zayn, but Gigi has made it clear that her daughter needs her dad. Gigi will do everything she can to make sure they co-parent in a civil way.”
