Actress Ashley Benson and singer G-Eazy separated over a year ago, but recently reconnected following the death of G-Eazy's mom, Suzanne Olmstead. A source recently told Entertainment Tonight that it is
definitely more than friendship and they are “hopeful” their relationship is going in a positive direction.
“Ashley and G-Eazy have been spending a lot of time together and talking a lot since G-Eazy's mom passed away.” said the source. “They have always had love for each other and reconnected after his mom's passing. It’s been difficult for him since losing his mom and has been leaning on people who know him best, and who he feels comfortable around, which includes Ashley.”
They added, “They have been getting a lot closer again and are hopeful about the future of their relationship.”
The couple were together for less than a year when they split in February of 2021. They'd only gone Instagram official in October of 2020 after Benson brought G-Eazy to her sister's wedding. In April of that year, another source told ET that there were “no hard feelings,” and “there is still respect and love there on both ends.”
The source explained, “They're not rushing to get back together and aren't talking about getting back together for now.”
In November, G-Eazy shared a tribute to Olmsted, including photos and a voicemail from his mother. In the caption, he described how devastating the loss of his mother has been.
“I love you so much,” he wrote. “The shock still won’t let me accept the feeling that I’ll never get to hug you in person again. My queen, my hero, my everything… my mom... The tears won’t stop. My eyes hurt, my face hurts, my body hurts, everywhere hurts.”
