On the latest episode of Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox's Forbidden Fruitspodcast, Fox spoke openly about a rumor that she and musical artist Drake had a relationship before she started dating
Kanye West. On Friday, February 4, Fox said that they spent time “hanging out,” but added that “nothing really happened” during those hang outs.
“He’s a great guy and a gentleman… and that was it. Nothing really happened, we were just, like, friends hanging out,” Fox said. “I wouldn’t say that we were dating.”
At the time of their supposed connection, a source told Page Six that Drake sent a DM to Fox on Instagram to compliment her performance in Uncut Gems. He reportedly purchased her two Birkin bags and brought her to stay at his mansion in Toronto, but coronavirus interfered with their plans.
“They were closing the border [between Canada and the US], and she had to get back home,” said the source.
West and Drake have a checkered history, including a feud they seemed have resolved last year. Fox claims she told West about her former times with Drake before they had their first date on New Year's Eve.
“I feel like they’ve squashed their issues,” Fox observed. “Obviously, when I first started speaking to Ye, I told him immediately — I think on the first day, before it went any further — because I’m just an honest person.”
The two rappers had a show in December of 2021 for the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert in Los Angeles, dedicated to raising awareness for prison and sentencing reform. West's ex, Kim Kardashian was at the event and he changed the lyrics to his hit “Runaway,” saying, “I need you to run right back, baby, more specifically, Kimberly.”
Kardashian is currently dating comedian Pete Davidson, and her and West's co-parenting relationship has soured in recent weeks as it's become clear that Kardashian never warmed to her ex's reconciliation attempts.
