Shoe trends for winter 2021: lace-up Brogues

Fall Winter 2020 2021 Fashion Trends: lace-up brogues. High-heel or flat, see all the styles for Fall and our tips on how to wear them

data-test-id="Paragraph">Super-high platform styles, or flat: lace-up brogues are back on trend for Fall Winter 2020 2021. They are different from derby shoes -  in which the vamp is stitched underneath the eyelet tabs -  these elegant shoes feature five eyelets that help fastening the shoe close to the instep. Lace up heel shoes were used in the 1700s by ladies of the court at Versailles and in the 19th century they were renamed Oxford shoes at Oxford University and became a symbol of middle-class style and of preppy style in the 1900s.

In this specific case the shoe is less closed at the front and features only three eyelets and a streamlined pointed toe. Black patent leather for Giorgio Armani and a croc print for Marc Jacobs: flat lace-ups are teamed with long pants or bermuda shorts (in this case, add knee-length socks).
