Katty Kay and Claire Shipman Launch 'Your Confidence Code' Online Course

Checking in with yourself and maintaining morale is vital any year, but can feel like a herculean task in 2020. Enter award-winning journalists and New York Times bestselling authors Katty Kay

and Claire Shipman, authors of The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Confidence—What Women Should Know. The duo behind this 2014 self-help book are launching the 'Your Confidence Code' online course, designed for women to evaluate and strengthen their confidence levels.

Kay and Shipman will lead participants through curriculum that utilizes "cutting-edge research, insight, and wisdom from successful women in politics, media and business," per a press release. The course is composed of 13 video lessons, 11 video exercises, personal interviews, and action steps built for embracing yourself and casting out insecurities. “Since writing our book, The Confidence Code, we’ve heard from so many women about looking for that extra step, that additional push, the new knowledge that can help them take more control over their lives. This course is a great addition to the book and, we trust, will help girls and women the world over reach a new level of confidence,” Kay said in a statement.

Lessons can be completed in 14 days and include testimonies from Valerie Jarrett, former senior advisor to President Obama; Jane Wurwand, co-founder of Dermalogica; and renowned cognitive neuroscientist, Dr. Laura-Ann Petitto. “So many women are held back—at work, school, and at home—by a lack of confidence. We’re excited to offer a course, with new detail and innovative methodology, that can give women a direct guide to help them turn thought into action and take the first step break through the barriers holding them back,” Shipman said in a statement.

Kay and Shipman, both Washington D.C.-based reporters, have overcome their own battles with imposter syndrome to cover the White House, economic crises, and wars. Kay is the anchor of BBC World News America and contributor to both Meet the Press and Morning Joe. Shipman is a White House reporter for NBC News and CNN, as well as a contributor to both Good Morning America and ABC News. They've also collaborated on two other books, The Confidence Code for Girls and Womenomics.
