Last Week, The Best Dressed Stars Exuded Uncompromising Glamour

The post-pandemic streets are continuously buzzing with a lineup of events, and Black stylish celebrities and influencers seem socially famished enough to show up, break necks, and mark an invisible attendance report.

With the fashion scenes entirely booked last week (from fashion shows to awards shows), stylish Black celebrities and influencers had more than enough reason to flex their fashion muscles.

In between releasing new collections for FW22, high fashion designers also pulled enough “octopus” moments using their many hands to clothe our ever fashionable Black style stars in custom numbers. This way, both the runway aisles and the front rows were dominated with elegant pieces and worthy silhouettes to embody them.

The looks

The 53rd annual National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP) Awards held last week and per usual, celebrities trooped in with uncompromised style servings—enough to feed the eyes and appetite. In addition to bagging awards, A-list actress Jennifer Hudson redefined slay in a black Christian Siriano corset dress featuring off-the-shoulder exaggerated sleeves and a flowing train that was further accentuated with Gismondi jewelry. A true case of classic meets glam.

For the SAG Awards, actress Cynthia Erivo was simply ravishing in a custom Louis Vuitton red number. The blood red latex corset frock, which was a perfect complement to her skin tone, wascleverly finished off with a latext and fur coat also by the same brand.

The Nigerian entertainment scenes were certainly not left out as celebrities graced the Future Africa Awards and media girl, Toke Makinwa stayed true to her slay-ish reputation in a black lace-detailed Lanre Da Silva flowy number.

The styles shared by Black celebrities and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous, and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them.
