If you're someone who believes more is more when it comes to clothing, then the idea of colorful Spanish retailer Desigual collaborating with punk-inspired, embellishment-heavy American label Libertine might be a dream come true. Available now in select stores and at Desigual.com, it's truly one of the loudest, boldest fashion collaborations in recent memory — a veritable elebration of excess.

Libertine founder Johnson Hartig and Desigual are two peas in a very vibrant, non-conformist pod; they share a similar vision when it comes to creating fashion, mixing inspirations, playing with color and patchwork and combining prints. Together, they amplify and egg on each other's wild, expressive sides.

"Desigual," says Hartig, "is known for vibrant patterns and color, much as my brand is, so it was a joy to know that I could really go as wild as I wanted with print and color. My designs are actually more subdued than many of Desigual's usually are. You'll see we did this incredible patchwork print that was bright but not super oversaturated."

Those mesmerizing patchworks can be found on everything from an oversized hat, to a collared blouse, to a ruffled asymmetrical skirt. Colorful, embellished ribbons, a Libertine signature, also feature prominently in the collection — stitched onto the neckline of an unforgettable black nylon bomber jacket and on the sides of a matching pair of Bermuda shorts. A sequined-covered hoodie and shorts make up another bold coordinating set.

For those just dipping their toes into Desigual and Libertine's world of "more is más," there are a few quieter, yet equally distinctive, pieces as well: Studded denim in the form of flares, a high-waisted miniskirt and a classic jean jacket; or a crochet-style dress available in black or white. There's also a checked blazer and matching shorts that look more Wes Andersonian-preppy than power-clashing punk. Though, even the collection's craziest pieces are ideal for jazzing up an otherwise simple outfit without going overboard.

This special collaboration may be all about más colour, más collage, más patchwork and más mixing, but it is limited when it comes to quantity, so shop every piece in the gallery below while you still can.
