Ben Affleck went the distance for Jennifer Lopez. The couple was photographed together in Gran Canaria, Spain, where Lopez has been filming her upcoming thriller The Mother for Netflix.
Lopez and
Affleck were captured holding hands and generally being happy together during one of her breaks. You can see more photos of their reunion here, but the way Lopez is looking at Affleck below makes it clear how smitten she is with him nearly a year into dating.
Lopez spoke to Rolling Stonelast month about why she doesn’t see her rekindled relationship with Affleck failing again. “I don’t think we would have got back together if we thought that was where it was headed,” she said. “We feel like what we found again is so much more important, and how we protect that and how we live our lives—what to share, what not to share—is the balance that we have now, the benefit of experience and the wisdom that we gained over the years.”
In a New York Times interview released Feb. 1, Lopez spoke more about why she believes the second time is the charm for them. Lopez and Affleck first dated from 2002 to 2004 and got engaged before calling off their wedding in September 2003. They ultimately broke up in January 2004.
“I would say we learned our lesson the first time,” Lopez said with a sigh. “To hold it sacred. You have to do what feels good to you all the time. But at the same time, you learn from the past, you do things better the second time. There’s a part of it that, yes, we’re together. But there’s a part of it that’s not, you know, being so open the way we were when we were so young and in love many years ago.”
