S
tar girl Lori Harvey‘s BFF color choices are definitely the neutral tones. Harvey has been spotted countless times doing full-on justice to neutrals — from well tailored suit sets to athleisure
fits and snazzy form-fitting frocks. Although neutrals are not the first point of call when it comes to spring, they are undeniably a colossal foundation for any color coordination. Once you know your neutrals like Harvey does, it’s easy to explore the color palette and deliver smashing outfits with unlimited color placings.
The star has been known to throw in some excitement with ultra chic accessories and a magnetic personality. Whether she’s gracing the covers of reputable magazines or launching her skin care line, the 25-year-old has done it all while commanding an irresistable fashion presence. This certainly comes as no surprise as the daughter of famed stylista, Marjorie Harvey and [now] zaddy Steve Harvey really has no other option but to slay, and slay she does! From romantic getaways with actor-boyfriend Michael B. Jordan to the set of internationally syndicated talkshow, The Real, and of course, red carpet moments, fashion remains the unifying factor between all of Harvey’s appearances. And in many of these occassions, neutral tones have proven to be her shade of choice.
How to style neutral colors
The four (4) basic neutral colors are white, black, brown, and grey and from these spring forth several others hues. The good news is: neutral go with almost everything! No jokes, they really have no picky nerve in them. On the other hand, the bad news is: because they go with everything, it’s very easy to get lazy when combining pieces. Think about it: if it’s so easy to pull off a “rhyming” look, why stress too much with the creative aspect of things? My answer? Because you’re a Style Raven and, just like Lori Harvey, slay is what we do! So, how do you style neutral tones?
#1. Monochrome
The ultra chic and ultra feminine appeal of a monochrome is look is certainly what has endeared it to the hearts of style stars around the world. Plus, it is an easy and almost fail-proof way to style neutrals. While you can definitely pair the same shade from head-to-toe, you can add a little thought by working with different shades of a color.
.
#2. Patterns & textures
One of the surest ways to make neutrals more interesting is by playing with patterns and textures — think animal prints, checkers, etc. Interestingly, patterns and textures stay trendy season after season and with a variety of options to choose from, you can definitely find one that works for you. In order words, there’s no going out-of-style with this one and IT girl Lori surely agrees.
#3. Pop is good
By now, you get the drift that neutral tones need some kind of edge to make a style-impact. Another way you can do this is by incorporating a pop into your look. For example, an all-white ensemble can get a pop with an orange shoe and/or bag. In addition, you can also use sequin, embellished accessories, or edgy jewelry for the same effect.
