Nigerian singer-songwriter, producer, and Apple Music Up Next alum Tems has announced ‘Leading Vibe Radio’, a new biweekly radio series airing on Apple Music’s global live-streaming radio station Apple Music 1. On ‘Leading Vibe Radio’, Tems says she will be “shining a light on women, artists, and creatives that are finding their way, finding their voice, and talking about how to be good soil—something that greatness can grow out of,” and bring “Africa to the world.”
The inaugural episode of the show is an introduction to Tems, her co-hosts, and her new show. She answers questions from her co-manager Muyiwa and brother Tunji and shares details, stories, and thoughts about her life, childhood, creative process, and taste in music. The trio expands on the episode’s broad theme of ‘Leading The Vibe’, as we eavesdrop on honest and real conversations, soundtracked by a personally curated playlist featuring some of Tems’ favorite songs and artists — old and new.

American singer Lizzo is entering one of the most lucrative markets out there, the shapewear business, with the launch of her brand Yitty. The multi-hyphenate star’s line is created in partnership with Kate Hudson’s active life wear brand Fabletics and will celebrate the foundation of radical self-love and body positivity. The project has been in the pipeline for a few years and will include sizes from 6XL to XS. The star aims to make shapewear more empowering with her label.
Lizzo took to Instagram to post the announcement. She penned a passionate note describing the idea behind it all. According to reports, Lizzo heavily involved herself in the making of Yitty. The name itself is a tribute to her childhood nickname. Additionally, the inclusive brand aims to change the essence of shapewear itself. Instead of being a tool to force people to change their bodies, it will promote body positivity and boldness.
3. South Africa: Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards’ first African host revealed
Jumping at global opportunities that were only but a dream for 19-year-old NickMusic presenter Lerai Rakoditsoe has quickly become a reality. The biggest kids’ choice awards are around the corner, and it has been announced that Africa will have its first-ever host, Rakoditsoe, for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2022. Rakoditsoe is no stranger to the slimy limelight as she was Africa’s first presenter last year. Twelve months later, she takes it up a notch as the official host of the broadcast awards.
“This has been such a wonderful way to begin the year; I’m delighted that my efforts have been recognized not only locally and across the continent but have given me the opportunity to play a part in the global phenomenon that is the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards,” said Rakoditsoe in a statement.

Ghana’s opposition has said it will contest a law introducing a controversial new tax on electronic payments at the supreme court. The Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) Bill was approved by parliament on Tuesday, March 29. It was considered under a certificate of urgency and was adopted at a reduced rate of 1.5% from the proposed 1.75%. Opposition MPs refused to participate in the vote and staged a walkout, describing the tax as unfair. Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta defended the bill, saying it would bring in projected revenues of $930m (£700m) per year.
President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government also said the move will help address Ghana’s high public debt. The government recently announced sweeping spending cuts to tackle the deficit. It blamed worsening economic hardships on the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
5. Augustine Eguavoen: Nigeria boss quits after failing to reach World Cup

Augustine Eguavoen has stepped down as Nigeria’s boss after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Nigeria was eliminated on the away goals rule following a 1-1 draw with Ghana in Abuja in the second leg of their play-off on Tuesday. Eguavoen, 56, was placed in interim charge of the side in December following the sacking of long-serving coach Gernot Rohr. He led the team to the last 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations this year and was then tasked with reaching the World Cup finals in Qatar. Nigeria’s exit at the hands of their West African rivals was met by an angry reaction from home supporters, who pelted the Ghanaian delegation with missiles and damaged dugouts and advertising hoardings after staging a pitch invasion.
Former Nigeria international Eguavoen, who had two previous spells in charge of the national side, is expected to return to his position of technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Meanwhile, the rest of the Super Eagles coaching staff has been dismissed, and offers of two-and-a-half-year contracts have been withdrawn.
