Taylor Swift opted to skip out on walking the 2022 Grammys red carpet tonight despite being up for Album of the Year for Evermore. It's possible that Swift could pull a
Beyoncé and arrive later in the ceremony, as Album of the Year is among the last awards announced. With only one nod too in a very competitive category, it's also possible Swift may have opted to skip the night entirely, not expecting to win again after winning for Folklore last year.
Swift was seen out at an Oscars pre-party in Los Angeles last Friday with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Multiple eyewitnesses detailed to E! how Swift acted at CAA's bash at the San Vicente Bungalows. One source said Alwyn and Swift “looked very much in love.”
“Taylor was introducing Joe to many people around her,” that source detailed. “She looked smitten and proud to be there with him.”
A second source said that Swift and Alwyn “were very coupley and cute and seemed happy to be there together. Taylor and Joe were together all night. He was leading her around introducing her to people, and Taylor also introducing people to Joe. When Joe was leading Taylor around, he held his arm around her back.”
Neither Swift nor Alwyn were seen at the Oscars ceremony or its after-parties.
The singer won Album at the Year at last year's Grammys for Folklore. She thanked Alwyn in her speech, notably. “Joe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine,” she said to her boyfriend. (Alwyn wrote songs for folkloreunder the pseudonym William Bowery.) “I want to thank—I want to thank James, Inez, and Betty and their parents [Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds] who are the second and third people that I play every new song that I write but mostly, we just want to thank the fans. You guys met us in this imaginary world that we created, and we can’t tell you how honored we are forever by this. Thank you so much, and thank you to the Recording Academy. We will never forget that you did this for us. Thank you so much.”
