Despite initial reports yesterday, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker aren’t legally married following their “joke” Las Vegas wedding on Monday, E! reports. The couple didn’t have a marriage license and decided
after a few drinks that having a fake wedding with an Elvis impersonator officiating would be fun. The reality is, a source explained to the outlet, Kardashian and Barker are far more focused on having a baby together than planning a wedding right now.
“Travis and Kourtney are planning to legally get married this year,” the source said. “They have been focusing on having a baby but their plan is to tie the knot before the end of the year.”
As for the Vegas wedding, “It was a total joke and something fun for them to do,” the source said. “They were out at Delilah on Sunday night after the Grammys and had a few drinks and decided it would be funny to go to a chapel and get ‘married.’ They had a little too much fun in Vegas and thought it would be hilarious.”
“[They] have always joked about running away and just doing it at a chapel in Vegas and not telling anyone. They wanted the photos,” the source said.
Neither Kardashian nor Barker have commented on the wedding reports yet. One Love Wedding Chapel owner Marty Frierson gave Peopledetails about their faux wedding ceremony, which took place at 1:45 A.M. Kardashian and Barker came dressed in their Grammys outfits.
“I didn’t know who it was until they pulled up,” he recalled. “I advertise as 24-hours but they wanted to make sure I was still there. They paid and they requested Elvis Presley, that was mandatory. I called back 5 minutes later and was like, I got an Elvis, and there they were.”
“They came, got married, tossed the bouquet in the driveway, and danced to Elvis,” Frierson continued. “They showed a lot of love and had a lot of fun.”
