Embrace Your Inner Art School Kid With Uniqlo's Latest Collab

Few other labels has make menswear quite as fun and colorful as Marni. Many of today's in-demand luxury brands rely on logos upon logos, but the Italian fashion house instead turns

to vibrant colors and head-turning patterns. And it does so with artistic flair and an exacting vision that has made it one of the hottest labels around. Now, Marni brings that signature brand of quirky playfulness to the masses with a brand-new collaboration with Uniqlo.

Uniqlo

The collection is designed to add a zap of next-level style to your summertime wardrobe. There are lightweight parkas, utility jackets, and tailored blazers. Pants and shorts are offered in relaxed wide fits. (Some even hav delightful pleats.) A smattering of button-up shirts and T-shirts (along with some socks) rounds out the collaboration. True to Marni form, there is no shortage of bright shades, eccentric detailing, and wild patterns. (Fear not: there are some more low-key pieces sprinkled throughout, too.)

This collaboration is a bit of an opposites-attract situation: Uniqlo is known worldwide for its pared-back essentials. It's the easy place to go for a new T-shirt or pair of socks. Even its flagship capital-F fashion collaboration (the beloved "U" sub-label helmed by Christophe Lemaire) tends to produce well-designed yet unflashy clothes. Now the global retailer is turning to Marni for something decidedly—and deliberately—different. The appeal of Marni is in its idiosyncrasies; a single Marni piece has the power to totally transform an otherwise unshowy outfit. There is a good reason why the brand is a go-to for style savant Jonah Hill, who can dress casually mellow or blissfully artful, depending on the day. "He's the perfect person to enjoy Marni," the label's creative director once told GQ

Now, you'll be able to get the vibrant magic of Marni at a place that specializes in intentionally subdued clothes—at a fraction of the designer label’s usual price. And luckily, it's all happening just in time for the warmer weather around the corner: the collection will arrive in Uniqlo stores and online starting May 26. Plus, the partnership isn’t a one-off, so expect more Marni x Uniqlo wares in the seasons to come. Your summertime fits will thank you.
