Ahead of the Met Gala, Olivia Rodrigo spent her Sunday night eating at celebrity hotspot Carbone—and the Gen Z singer dressed to make an impression during her dinner. Rodrigo was photographed
by the Italian restaurant in New York City’s Greenwich Village wearing a sheer chainmail mini dress with a black bra and undies underneath. She accessorized with a choker, heart dangle earrings, black platform heels, and a black mini bag adorned with a bow. Rodrigo’s friend, singer Conan Gray, joined her for the meal and seemingly carried her purple jacket.
Rodrigo spoke to ELLE.comin March about how she became her own harshest critic when making Sour, and even now.“I definitely put a lot of pressure on myself all the time,” Rodrigo said. “There were bits of that in the film [documentary Driving Home 2 U on the making of Sour] where I talked about how I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t like this song. It can be better.’ And sometimes that can be hard. … I’m way too hard on myself and it’s past the point of being productive.”
“But I don’t know,” she continued. “I guess I just try to think of it in a positive way and try to channel it to make myself a better person and not self-destruct, I suppose.”
She also addressed what her “For You Page” looks like on TikTok. “I’m on like the spiritual TikTok where it’s like, girls who are reading your tarot cards for you. And they’re like, ‘Just take it if it resonates,’” she said. “And they’re never really right, but I still like to listen through all of them and I love that. It’s that and it’s also videos that have no likes and it’s just someone making a dance in their bedroom in like, Tennessee.”
