Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Dressed Like Fashion Royalty at the 2022 Met Gala

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, co-chairs of tonight's Met Gala, just made their debut on the stairs, and of course, their looks are jaw-dropping. Adhering to the night's Gilded Glamour theme,

Lively wore a crown with a strapless custom Atelier Versace dress, featuring pink bow-like detailing with pink opera gloves. Reynolds complemented her in black tuxedo.

Lively's pink and blue-hued dress matched the carpet, something she has done every year at the Met Gala. It appears her dress opened up to showcase blue fabric as she walked down the carpet:

Lively and Reynolds haven't attended the Met Gala together since 2017.

Reynolds spoke inside the event that year to Humans of NY about how much he adores Lively. “She always responds with empathy,” he started. “She meets anger with empathy. She meets hate with empathy. She'll take the time to imagine what happened to a person when they were five or six years old. And she's made me a more empathetic person. I had a very fractured relationship with my father. Before he died, she made me remember things I didn't want to remember. She made me remember the good times.”

Notably, Lively is her own stylist and puts together her own looks. She spoke in March 2018 about why she likes styling herself.

“I love design and I love fashion and it’s a way to be creative,” she told Women's Wear Daily then. “In my job I get to be creative, but it’s over a period of time and so many other people are involved, whereas this is a beginning, middle and end, and I get to be creative and there’s an end date in the near future. It’s the same reason why I like doing my friends’ hair and makeup or cooking—you get to be creative and finish it. Whereas with my job you do it and then two years later it’s finished. It probably goes back to the control issues; it’s like, ‘Okay, I did it, I completed it, it’s done!’”
