Bejeweled headbands: a sneak peek of 2020-2021 trends
If you enjoy a princessy vibe, this trend is for you. In the last few seasons we have learned and loved to wear padded headbands,
an accessory that looks more similar to a little hat or a tiara than to a simple headband, due to its padding and lavish décor. A trend that exploded after Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, sported a padded headband in one of her public appearances, followed suit by every royal-style fan worth their name. But now the focus is back on a more basic style, with embellished pieces that gracefully frame the head courtesy of subtle brand logos, delicate woven detailing and nature-inspired micro-sculptural elements.
Although we already had a preview of the trend at the Fall Winter 2020 2021 collections with Dolce & Gabbana and Erdem, the final looks from Dior’s Cruise 2021 runway show proved that a tulle dress and a little tiara can turn any girl into an enchanting goddess, while Chanel’s goal for Spring Summer 2021 is to make us look like a sophisticated urban princess.
