Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis Light Up the Happiest Season Trailer

All I want for Christmas is some long-overdue representation in my holiday rom-coms. Ask and ye shall (finally) receive: Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis are playing a couple in Hulu's Happiest

Season. A new trailer for the Meet the Parents-esque comedy introduces us to Abby (Stewart) and Harper (Davis), partners who hide their romance when heading to Harper's conservative family home for the holidays.

Their "perfect relationship" is tested by not only Harper's secrecy about her sexuality, but Abby's covert plans to propose. Then there's the couple's friend John (Dan Levy) who comes to rescue Abby and pose as her lovesick ex-boyfriend. "This is why I avoid Christmas. It brings out the worst in everything," Abby amidst the holiday hijinks. "Everybody's story is different," John later promises. "Just because Harper isn't ready doesn't mean she doesn't love you."

An all-star ensemble joins Stewart and Davis in Happiest Season, co-written and directed by actress Clea DuVall. Harper's parents are played by Mary Steenburgen and Victor Garber. Alison Brie and the film's co-writer Mary Holland are cast as Harper's sisters, while Levy, Aubrey Plaza, and Burl Moseley fill out the cast.

Stewart, who identifies as queer, previously spoke to Peopleabout the importance of LGBTQ+ Christmas films and inclusivity in the holiday genre. "I think I've wished to see a gay Christmas rom-com my whole life," she told the outlet. "I'm so happy and proud of Clea for bringing this into the world." DuVall, who made her directorial debut with the film, added, "I'm a huge fan of Christmas movies, but I had never seen my story represented. Happiest Season felt like a great opportunity to tell a universal story from a new perspective."

Happiest Season hits Hulu November 25.
