News of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's secret move from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara just became public last week. Today, Peoplehas new intel from two sources about what the Duke
and Duchess of Sussex's life with their one-year-old son Archie is like on their Montecito estate.
According to the source, Meghan and Harry are finally enjoying some peace. "This is their permanent home," the source said. "Ever since Archie arrived, everything has been so turbulent, and many things have been up in the air. It has not been easy, necessarily. For the first time in a long time, they have a clear focus."
The couple adores their new U.S. home. "They both love California, and Santa Barbara has a magic to it—the mountains, oceans, vineyards, flowers, gardens," a source close to the couple said. "It’s so beautiful."
Their son Archie is enjoying it too, the source continued: "Archie is really happy, and he has some space to run free. The house came with a play structure that he’ll be climbing in no time. They’re excited to be there and to become part of the community. It’s a really happy time for them as a family."
People's update comes days after Meghan spoke about how good it feels returning home to the U.S. during her appearance at the 19th*'s virtual summit.
She spoke about the Black Lives Matter movement, stating, "from my standpoint, it’s not new to see this undercurrent of racism and certainly unconscious bias, but I think to see the changes that are being made right now is really—it's something that I look forward to being a part of. And being part of using my voice in a way that I haven’t been able to of late. So, yeah, it’s good to be home.”
