London might be on a mandated lockdown because of the pandemic, but that hasn't stopped Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra from celebrating the special moments life has to offer. On Saturday,
they celebrated Diwali from the comfort of their own home and shared this intimate photo from the day.
"Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating," Chopra wrote on an Instagram post. "From our family to yours. ❤️"
Jonas shared the same photo with the caption "Happy Diwali everyone! Sending love and light to all. ?"
Since he and Chopra got married in 2018, Jonas has taken part in traditions that are important to his wife, including the pre-wedding puja, a Hindu prayer ritual.
Their wedding overall will be a "mostly traditional Indian wedding," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "Nick understands how important it is to Priyanka to stay true to her background, and wants her to have the best wedding day."
Like the rest of us, Chopra and Jonas spent much of their year in quarantine. As Chopra told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush in a video-call interview last month, she thinks her relationship with her husband has only been strengthened by lockdown.
"I still like him after spending so much time with him," she said. "He's great, and we would've never had as much time with each other as we got during this quarantine. It only took a global pandemic for us to align our schedules together, but that was definitely a silver lining is to be able to be home. And we moved into a new house, and we had time to kind of do it up together and incubate, which was great."
Here's hoping we all find some silver linings like that as we stay home–and stay safe—right now.
