Bella Hadid is known for her signature long brown hair, but the model tried out its polar opposite hairstyle—a platinum pixie cut—for Dior's Homme show. Hairstylist Jennifer Yepez created the look,
which Hadid took a video and photos of and shared on her Instagram.
"Getting dolled up just for you @mrkimjones .... The new @dior Homme show is out now .... I’m wearing Look 45 x the Closing look??" Hadid wrote, then she credited the people who made her look possible. "Video by me , Makeup look by @samvissermakeup FOR @diormakeup , hair by @jennifer_yepez ?"
Is the hairstyle permanent or just a wig? Unclear, though Yepez hinted it was temporary with her caption: "Blonde moment @bellahadid for @mrkimjones New @dior Homme show ?" the stylist wrote.
Hadid is actually a natural blonde. The model told Glamourin 2016 that she didn't change her look to differentiate herself from her model sister Gigi Hadid; she just wanted brown hair.
"I didn’t really dye my hair to separate myself from Gigi," she said. "I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner—I was a punk kid. I might want to go blond eventually!"
She reiterated that point when speaking to Harper's Bazaarin March 2017 about why she dyed her hair an even darker brown. “Honestly, I just needed a change in my life. I think when you dye and cut your hair it takes away a lot of past resolutions. When I was 13, I dyed my hair dark and cut it and I felt like myself. Then when I was 15, I had a bob and dyed it blue and black and had side-bangs. I really just wanted to go back to when I was 15 and relive that.”
Hadid did go blonde again not just for Dior's show but in 2019, by the way. Then, Hadid progressively lightened her hair during the summer until it was blonder than her sister's hair. By September, she was back to brown though, debuting dark brown hair during Paris Fashion Week.
