Lea Michele and her husband, Zandy Reich, are parents to a baby boy. People has confirmed that the couple welcomed their son on August 20.
"Everyone’s happy and healthy, and
they're extremely grateful," a source told the publication. "He's been an easy baby so far."
In early May, Michele confirmed her pregnancy with a photo of her wearing a blue floral maternity dress. A source for People confirmed the pregnancy in late May. "They've always wanted to be parents," the source said.
In early August, she posted this photo of herself enjoying a hike:
Michele and Reich have been married since last March, when they tied the knot at a private ceremony in Northern California.
News of Michele and Reich's romance first broke in July 2017. Before they started dating, the two were friends, sources at the time confirmed.
"They've been friends for a long time, a few years," a source told People. "Things turned romantic recently and they're dating now."
The actress told People that she knew things would turn out well with Reich once Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy gave his blessing.
"When my boyfriend got the seal of approval from Ryan Murphy, that was it," Michele said last year, per People. "Yeah my parents, yeah friends, whatever. But Ryan Murphy, it’s a done deal—it sealed the deal."
Michele has been the subject of controversy this summer following accusations from her former fellow Glee cast members about her racist micro-aggressions and bullying on set. In response to these accusations, HelloFresh ended its partnership with Michele.
Michele attempted an apology with this statement, which read, in part: "While I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or color of their skin, that's not really the point, what matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people. Whether it was my privileged position and perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or whether it was just my immaturity and me just being unnecessarily difficult, I apologize for my behavior and for any pain which I have caused. We all can grow and change and I have definitely used these past several months to reflect on my own shortcomings."
