December 26, the day after Christmas, is known as Boxing Day, a holiday celebrated in the U.K., and former British colonies, such as Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. The holiday actually
originated in 1871, in the Victorian Era.
These days, though, it's easy to connect the holiday with countless puns. Taylor Swift, with the help of her cat Olivia, absolutely nailed a boxing day joke, and it's...pretty cute. "boxing day ?," she wrote next to this photo of the Scottish fold peeking out from a cardboard box.
Some fans wanted to know, naturally, where Olivia's sister, Meredith was:

Swift might be lounging around with her cats (as she should!) this holiday weekend, but she's had a very productive December, and 2020, for that matter. In July, she announced a surprise album—a quarantine project—called folklore.
"Most of the things I had planned this summer didn't end up happening, but there is something I hadn't planned on that DID happen," she wrote on Instagram, in part. "And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise ? Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into."
Then, earlier this month, she dropped folklore's sister album, evermore. It's her ninth studio album.
"I'm elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore's sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern," she wrote. "It's called evermore. To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music."
So, yeah, when it comes to unboxing happy surprises this year, Tay's really delivered for us.
