Attention, Upper East Siders: Former Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr is now a mother. Szohr, who played Vanessa Abrams on the hit CW series, welcomed a daughter with longtime boyfriend Brad
Richardson at the start of 2021. She announced the news on Instagram Wednesday and revealed her child's unique name.
"Added a little special sweetness to our family and some new directions to our journey on 1-11-21," Szohr wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of the baby's hands. "Bowie Ella Richardson :) ?? This journey with Brad and (his daughter) Lexi has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. To then create a human that is absolutely perfect in our eyes and put a feeling in my heart I didn’t know existed is beyond words. I have all the feels and she is really something special :)"
Szohr, who has been linked to her professional hockey player boyfriend since early 2019, shared news of her pregnancy last September. "Full of joy!" she captioned a photo of Richardson kissing her growing belly. At the start of December, Szohr revealed her baby's sex, writing, "We can’t wait to meet you, baby girl!" on Instagram. This is the second child for Richardson, who has a daughter, Lexi, from a previous relationship.
Throughout her pregnancy, Szohr (who dated Gossip Girl costar Ed Westwick from 2008 to 2010) has shared updates with her followers. On Dec. 30, she posted a recap of her year set to David Bowie's "Changes," a likely hint at her daughter's name. Szohr wrote, "My 2020 in review: No resolutions achieved. (I blame COVID) However, @brichrdson15 and I did make a little human. Still in awe of the transformation my body has gone through during pregnancy. Simply amazing the power of a woman’s body! :)"
