Jennifer Lopez had a career milestone yesterday, performing at President Joe Biden's inauguration. Lopez's fiancé Alex Rodriguez joined her for the trip, and the two commemorated the moment in D.C. by
doing a Capitol photo shoot. They posed on the stairs, J.Lo in her all-white Chanel ensemble she performed in. And of course, they took a kissing shot truly made for the 'gram. Lopez shared a gallery of photos, captioning it, "#Inauguration2021 ??" Lopez's longtime manager Benny Medina appears alongside them, playing well-dressed third wheel.
Lopez spoke candidly to ELLE in its latest issue about having to postpone her wedding to Rodriguez twice because of the coronavirus pandemic. The two were originally supposed to wed in Italy last year.
“We postponed the wedding twice," she said. "We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don’t know if we’ll be able to re-create that. We canceled it, and since then we haven’t really talked about it. There’s no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it. We just have to wait to see where the world lands.”
Lopez was frank about her hopes that former President Donald Trump would not be elected then. Her interview with ELLE was conducted one week before the 2020 election.
“I’ve told everybody who works around me, all my family, ‘Don’t even talk to me if you haven’t voted,’” Lopez said. “The world right now is so confusing to me, because I feel like we all know that things need to change. It doesn’t matter if you’re Republican or Democrat, if you’re looking at the world right now, you know that we can do better—you know that. We can’t stay with this administration, we just can’t. It’s the definition of insanity.”
