Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles may be the first surprise couple of 2021, but they aren't the only one. E! is now reporting that 29-year-old actress Shailene Woodley and 37-year-old Green
Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers are dating, although their relationship is long distance. Rodgers has been focused on the NFL football season in Wisconsin; Woodley has been in Montreal, shooting Misanthrope.
A source told E! that the two have kept their romance under the radar. "They have kept things private and low key," the source said. "They have seen each other and been in touch. They continue to talk and see each other when they can. They are both focused on their careers, but they also make time for each other."
Rodgers previously dated race car driver Danica Patrick and was in a three-year relationship with actress Olivia Munn from 2014 to 2017. Woodley revealed in an April 2020 interview that she was no longer dating rugby player Ben Volavola, whom she was first linked to in 2017.
She spoke candidly about what caused their breakup during a Bustle interview: “I was in a relationship with someone and we were very much on the road to marriage and children." Working on the film Endings Beginnings prompted Woodley to have an epiphany about where she was in her life: “I realized I was still at an age where I wasn’t able to fully commit. I couldn’t be available to him in the way that I wanted to be. I didn’t fully love myself.”
After the split, Woodley quarantined alone in a West Coast cabin in the woods, painting and "trying to shed her codependent tendencies," Bustle wrote. As Woodley put it herself, “I’m stuck in a house by myself with my own thoughts, during a global pandemic, and have to deal with all the things I’ve never dealt with.”
