Sustainable Fashion: Uniforme for Vogue Talents February 2021

Sustainable fashion: this is the main theme of Vogue Talents February issue.

The French brand Uniforme is one of the brands selected for the Vogue TalentsFebruary 2021 Issue. The designers Hugues

Fauchard and Rémi Bats has told us about their work and their sustainable approach to fashion.

“We share a desire for sustainable design, artisanal production and a slower pace, and that’s what led us to launch Uniforme with a commitment to creating made-to-last garments. It’s imperative that we know all our manufacturers so we’re fully aware of who makes our clothes, where and how. This also ensures we have total control over the supply chain. To work even more locally, we’ve chosen to move out of Paris and set up our new studio in the countryside. That way we’re right next to our factories and immersed in the daily life of our community.”

“Our fascination with uniforms and utilitarian clothing goes back to our childhood. We both nurtured this passion on our own and it brought us together, uniting our creative universes. Hugues grew up surrounded by craftsmen on his father’s public work sites, and I was captivated by the functional apparel of my firefighter stepfather. Our aesthetic is therefore intimately linked to our upbringing and a certain nostalgia for that time.”
