Paris Hilton spent Valentine's Day as a newly-engaged woman. Hilton and her venture capitalist fiancé Carter Reum announced in Voguethat they got engaged on Feb. 13. Reum popped the question while
they were vacationing on a private island (yes, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and general recommendation in Los Angeles and most of the U.S. that people stay home and avoid non-essential travel).
Reum gave Hilton an emerald-cut ring and Hilton posed in a silver Retrofete dress and Loschy crown for the couple's engagement photos. Reum was in a white suit, so they matched. Hilton's sister Nicky and Reum's brother Courtney celebrated the news with them later on the trip.
Hilton expressed her excitement about her impending nuptials to Vogue in an interview: "I am excited about this next chapter and having such a supportive partner. Our relationship is one of equals. We make each other better people. He was absolutely worth the wait!”
Reum had equally glowing words about his bride-to-be. "From our very first date, I was able to get to know the real Paris," he said. "As people who have seen her documentary and recent advocacy work know, Paris is kind, smart, driven, authentic, and an amazing women, and I can’t wait to have her as a partner in life."
Hilton also announced the news on her Instagram, sharing a video featuring more engagement photos. "When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it. ?" she wrote. "My love & I have been together since our first date, and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise. ?️ As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee. ? I said yes, yes to forever ❤️ There’s no one I’d rather spend forever with. ✨ To see more photos of my birthday dream come true, visit ParisHilton.com. Here's to Love - the Forever Kind ?"
