Salma Hayek Celebrated Her 54th Birthday Early With A Svelte Swimsuit Instagram Photo

It's Salma Hayek's birthday Wednesday, and she's celebrating early in the most glamorous way. Wearing a halter swimsuit, matching black wrap, and straw hat, she posed atop a mountain near

the sea, naturally—showing off her toned arms and torso.

"Guess who’s turning 54 tomorrow? By the way, this is not a Throwback Thursday! Thank you Marjo for turning into a photographer during the vacation!" she captioned the Instagram, sharing a close-up shot for good measure.

At almost-54, the Frida star is looking healthy and toned, but she also puts in time at the gym and around the set. Salma literally works out 24/7, but not the way you think. "Some people have the discipline to exercise in the morning, and I didn't develop that," she told People. Instead, she activates all her body's tiny muscles through a form of yoga. "I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long," she explained. "So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles."

That doesn't mean she doesn't work out traditionally, though. Her former trainer Sara Shears told Shapethat while Salma keeps her workouts short, around 30 minutes each, she trained for five to seven days per week and varied her workouts, covering everything from Pilates to HIIT.

"We did a lot of kickboxing, dance type workouts with strength training, and ball work," Shears said. "We'd build up cardio and high-intensity interval training with exercises that really bring the heart rate up."

Happy (early) birthday to this fit-at-54 queen!
