garment has been revisited in original and innovative ways by fashion designers. Courtesy of its comfy silhouette that adapts to the body’s movements, the parka jacket stands out for a number of key elements, like the ever-present hood, the sporty raglan sleeve, the hip-length (typically) and the large patch pockets.

The parka jacket from Burberry’s new Spring collection by Riccardo Tisci stands out for its bright orange hue and workwear-inspired detailing, like the rubber coated ribbons that add to its waterproof function. The Dior jacket from the Spring 2021 collection designed by Kim Jones features an extra matte surface for additional refinement. The slightly puffed silhouette is embellished with subtle details like the metallic drawstring with silver-tipped laces.

The Spring jacket from the new Tommy Hilfiger Collection is a color-block preppie style number featuring logo and embroidery details that celebrate the brand’s heritage. Color block is a go-to also for MSGM and JW Anderson: while Massimo Giorgetti on his shiny nylon waterproof jacket toys with clashing contrasts, juxtaposing red, green and purple, Anderson goes tonal, embracing nuances of grass, dark, aqua and sage green.
