The latest member of the Kardashian clan to dive into skincare is none other than Kim Kardashian.
According to reports, the reality star, entrepreneur, soon-to-be lawyer and mom, recently filed trademark applications to potentially launch a brand called SKKN by Kim encompassing “skin care, hair care, nail products, perfumes, candles, and more.”
In fact, the documents submitted on March 30, 2021, noted a total of 19 filings for “various goods and services” under SKKN By Kim.
Kim’s entry into the skincare world seems natural given the recent business moves made by the 40-year-old star, as well as her family members. While Kim has previously successfully launched the KKW Beauty line, Kylie Jenner operates the massively popular Kylie Cosmetics line, which includes a spin-off collection with sister Khloe.
Kim's KKW Beauty received a $1 billion valuation in June of 2020 after agreeing to sell a 20 percent stake to Coty, while Kylie Jenner's beauty business received a $1.2 billion valuation in November of 2019. It equally sold a majority stake of the business to Coty for $600 million.
Most recently, the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan reportedly registered trademarks for "Kris Jenner Beauty," "Kris Jenner Skin" and "Kris Jenner Skincare” covering products including cosmetics, skincare, nail care products, false eyelashes, hair care products, fragrances and more.
Meanwhile, Kim has been growing her shapewear empire, Skims, which she launched in 2019. The brand has already grown to include a collection for children and brides.
Later this year, after 20 seasons, the Kardashian family's sensationally-popular reality TV show, 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians', will air for the last time, leaving Kim open to new projects.
