Announcing the 2nd Edition of The Daniele Tamagni Grant

The grant to honour the legacy of Italian groundbreaking photographer Daniele Tamagni returns for its second edition. The focus is for artists whose work explores the

African identity and engages with the African continent or its diaspora. The recipient of the Grant will be awarded with a one year scholarship at theMarket Photo Workshop (Johannesburg, ZA), the most prestigious institution for photography education in Africa (distinguished and famous alumni include Jodi Bieber, Zanele Muholi, Sydney Seshibedi and Nontsikelelo Veleko).

Since Tamagni started his artistic journey in photography at 32 years old, there won't be an age limit to apply, but applicants should have less than five years of professional experience: the aim of the grant is to support emerging photographers in making their first steps in the industry. Artists can submit their applications here.

The Daniele Tamagni Grant will encourage the recipient to become a positive agent of change, by shining new light over the evolution of the African continent and identity thanks to the support of a global network and through the creation of a new body of work that will be presented for admission to the Addis Foto Fest in Ethiopia and an Italian Photography Festival (still to be confirmed) and to be introduced to international photo editors and professionals of the media industry.
