How to have a Sustainable Christmas

Christmas is one of my favourite time of the year. I love getting cozy by the fire with my family, cook and eat all the delicious Christmas recipes and give and receive

gifts! Yet the amount of rubbish after the celebrations is actually scary so my family and I have been making some changes over the past few years. First, we organise a Secret Santa. All of us believe in quality over quantity and this decision was made after realising that most of the presents we were exchanging were unnecessary items that would end up in the bin before the next Christmas. Plus it was quite a time and money consuming task. Besides, we try to use alternatives to wrapping paper. My favourite being a Japanese gift wrapping technique called Furoshiki, which looks just gorgeous and is a gift within itself.

Below I have curated a range of sustainable fashion products available at Modafirma as well as pre-owned items and sustainable beauty products. I truly believe that as consumers we should be voting with our pockets and if you’re able to, support these independent brands. Each of these brands are actively incorporating sustainable business and manufacturing processes so if we’re giving these brands the attention they rightly deserve; hopefully this can encourage the big brands to follow suite.

If you want to find out more about sustainable fashion or if you like the look of one of these brands, I highly encourage you to visit their site and read up about them. You can also watch videos like the one below so that you can make more informed choices when you shop in the future too!
