looks as celebs an influencers alike take the slay assignment to heart and deliver without fail. Expectedly, this week was no different as women of color provided an endless source of creative beauty looks.
Whether it was for a photo shoot, attending events, or going about their regular activities, we saw an interesting spin on Black beauty looks that undoubtedly stole our breath. That’s what makes the world of beauty so delightful — the creative inspiration it offers. Certainly, any woman can take any trend and spin it to suit her personality and this week you’ll have more than enough to choose from.
The Looks
If unexpected beauty statements interests you, then you’ll surely fall in love with a look Issa Rae served this week. For her feature in Mic Magazine, the comedian brought in her personality to the colored liner trend. She wore two versions of the trend, and each was accentuated by a white liner. However, a peroneal favorite would of course be the take she complemented with her all-white ensemble. Celebrity makeup artiste, Joanna Simkin so rightly glided the white liner across Rae’s eye lid as well as her crease. Beautifully done. Interestingly, Issa isn’t the only celeb to rock the colored liner trend this week. American singer, Justine Skye equally did and as expected, incorporated her personality into her look. Also in a feature for Mic Magazine, the Collide hit maker wears two strokes of the white liner on her lids.
Hair
Of course, the tresses game was A last week with Black women sporting major goals. Case in point is singer, Chloe Bailey who did justice to the locs. The 23-year-old opted for a wheat brown color shade for an unexpected contrast to her natural black mane. A look she shared on Instagram with the caption: “mirror mirror on the wall ?“. To which I can’t help but answer, “You are.”
