Work on Hulu’s upcoming miniseries Pam and Tommycontinues in earnest, and the show’s Pamela Anderson, actress Lily James, gave another staggering look at her transformation into the role. James posted a
selfie of herself in costume on her Instagram Story last night, featuring her in a glittery halter dress with a messy blonde updo. She also put a trippy IG filter over it.

James shared the first shot of herself as Anderson on her Instagram last month. “‘It’s great to be blonde. With low expectations it’s very easy to surprise people’ - Pamela Anderson. Pam & Tommy, coming to @Hulu. #PamAndTommy @pamandtommyonhulu,” James captioned it.
The series will explore the stolen sex tape scandal between Anderson and her then-husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee (played by Sebastian Stan), and it has already generated some controversy. Anderson’s friend Courtney Love spoke out on Facebook in May about her disgust at James and the series for exploiting a very traumatic incident in Anderson’s life.
Love wrote in a since-deleted post, via People: “I find this so f*cking outrageous.When Pam / Tommy sex tape was out / myself @pattyschemel @xmadmx were making a record. And the lone women in many recording studios in LA. Where all / ALL! The staff engineers / producers / owners / were watching the sex tape with huge schadenfraude.. Guffaws, It was disgusting. I banned anyone discussing it.. It destroyed my friend Pamelas life. Utterly.”
She added, “Last week I was asked to approve using a Rolling Stone cover of mine / shot by Mark Seliger in this piece of sh*t/ That they had approved. I said ‘f*ck no.’ shocked. Gentleman don’t approve this sort of thing. My heart goes out to Pammy ♥️♥️ further causing her complex trauma. And shame on Lily James whoever the f*ck she is. #vile.”
