Allswell's Black Friday promotion is still going strong, with markdowns of 25% off everything when you shop before November 29. For people who prefer a firmer sleeping surface, the brand's Brick mattress is ideal for back sleepers with just enough plushness to avoid the “sleeping on the floor” feeling—and with all the flotation a back sleeper needs to avoid feeling like they're folding in half.
Casper "Wave" mattress (was $2695, now 20% off)
Casper is nearly always having some kind of sale, but the week of Black Friday is the best opportunity to save 20% on its mattresses, which is really the best deal you'll find all year (just remember to shop before November 30). There's no promo code necessary to save on mattresses, or take 10% off its bedding and accessories. After our most recent round of 2021 testing, the Wave remains our pick for best supportive mattress.
Awara Hybrid mattress (was $1799, now $200 off)
The Awara Hybrid is one of the best supportive mattresses we've ever tested. The company makes relatively simple options, without the different sleep zones you'd find in something like the Casper Wave. The result is a mattress that's a bit more cloud-like—“soft, yet sturdy," said one tester. Awara's current promotion drops the price of a queen-sized mattress by $200 and sweetens the pot with $500 worth of other bedding gear. Plus, the company says they'll plant 10 trees with every mattress purchased. Pretty good, all around!
Avocado Latex mattress (was $2199, now $125 off with code "SAVEBIG")
The Avocado mattress comes with a sophisticated design compared to other “organic” mattresses. The mattress isn't quite as supportive as something like the Casper Wave or Leesa Legend, but it provides plenty of density for more sleepers to rest comfortably. All of Brooklyn Bedding's already relatively cheap mattresses and bedding are on sale this week through November 28 for 25% off with the code “BLACKFRIDAY25.” We've tested and like the company's extremely firm “Plank” mattress. That mattress is not for everyone, but if you've embraced basically sleeping on concrete, this is the mattress for you.
DreamCloud hybrid mattress (was $1199, now 17% off)
Our tester gave DreamCloud's mattresses top marks for its combo of bouncy and supportive, especially if you want something with a super plush top. In addition to a $200 discount on the mattress, shopping the brand's Black Friday sale will get you a free mattress protector, sheet set, and a pair of pillows (worth $399).
Nest Bedding "Sparrow" hybrid mattress (was $1699, now 20% off)
We haven't tested Nest Bedding's mattresses either, but online reviews generally rate them well, and a bunch of them are 20% off during its Black Friday sale. The Sparrow is a medium-firm hybrid mattress that's pretty supportive, so you shouldn't sink too far into it. It's best for combo sleepers that switch sleeping positions through the night.

Nectar Sleep original mattress
Nectar Sleep is offering $100 off its mattresses and throwing in a handful of freebies (valued at $399) during its Black Friday sale—including a sheet set, mattress protector, and cooling pillow. Though we haven't tested it ourselves, reviewers liken the brand's cushy original memory foam mattress to a cloud. It's probably best suited for lightweight sleepers who prefer a softer bed.
Airweave mattress
Japanese brand Airweave offers mattresses that are customizable, meaning instead of a fully assembled and layered mattress you can choose how many layers you sleep on, how you want your modular layers to be arranged, and which side of each you sleep on (since each side of the individual layers has a different firmness level). Since the mattresses are all buildable, they're also easy to break down and pack up if you're moving apartments anytime soon. The brand focuses on firm and extra firm mattresses designed with an interwoven “airfiber” fabric that helps distribute weight and allow for easier airflow. During its Black Friday sale, you'll save up to 20% on its mattresses and accessories, including the original non-modular mattress seen here and its Japanese futons that are designed to be used with tatami mats.
Amerisleep AS3 mattress (was $1699, now $300 off with code "BF300")
Amerisleep's mattresses are all $300 off through November 28 when you use the code “BF300" at checkout, and they're even throwing in two complimentary pillows. You can also take 30% off of adjustable bed bundles during the same time period. Though we haven't tested any of its mattresses, nearly all reviews say they run on the firm side. If that's what you like, more power to you.
Zoma mattress (was $949, now $150 off)
Zoma's four-layered mattresses are made specifically for athletes, and designed with “recovery” in mind. This might not actually mean very much to you, but it does give the brand cover to bestow each layer of the mattress with a wacky sneaker-tech-esque name. (Triangulex™, Reactiv™, SUPPORT+, etc.) Reviews of the mattress are generally positive, especially from side-sleepers who weigh less than 200 pounds. Both the company's all-foam mattress and hybrid mattresses are $150 off with the code WIN150, with the promotion ending on November 28.
Saatva classic mattress (was $1595, now $160 off)
We haven't tested Saatva's hybrid mattresses ourselves, but reviews seem to indicate they have an extremely luxurious feel. The Classic mattress falls on the medium firm end of things with a thick top that you'll sink into a good bit, making it preferable for front and side sleepers. Right now, the company is giving you 10% off sitewide and raising the discount to 15% off with big purchases over $2750—no code necessary.
Nolah Signature 12 mattress (Was $1599, now $300 off)
We've never slept on a Nolah before, but this upgraded version of its basic mattress comes with options: One side is softer, for side- and front-sleepers; the other is firmer for back sleepers. It's not like you're going to flip your mattress regularly to take advantage—you're probably one or the other. But the something-for-everyone concept means you'll likely get what you need from the Nolah, and this weekend, you'll get it for $300 cheaper than normal, no code needed.
