Pinterest is introducing a brand-new hair pattern search technology that makes it easier for users to find hair inspiration that matches their specific type of hair. Created with Black, Brown and Latinx
Pinners in mind, this technology leverages computer vision-powered object detection so that users can search for six different hair patterns: protective, coily, curly, wavy, straight and shaved or bald.
Now, when Pinterest users type in a broad term like "summer hairstyles" or "glam hair," they will get to refine their searches with the looks that match their desired style.
Previously, Pinterest introduced a search feature to help users to refine their beauty-related searches based on their own skin tone. Both of these features support more inclusivity on the platform.
