The style lookbook for fashion label EGONLab's 2021 men's spring wear collection is out and when making its debut on the catwalk, designers Florentin Glémarec and Kévin Nompeix made sure to thoroughly
reference the current climate or the feelings that it has conjured in people. The silhouettes from the capsule were modern and decisively constructed. The EGONLab line was presented via an online film—a mode of presentation that is compliant with the lifestyle and business restrictions due to COVID-19.
The models walked down and various digitally generated backdrops caught the audience's attention—from "blobs of volcanic rock" to "smashed cars and rubble." EGONLab's creative direction truly hits a nerve in the current Zeitgeist, combining the anxiety and frustration that have accumulated during COVID-19 and the contemporary consumer's love for dystopian narratives.
