Revived 18K Gold Timepieces - Vacheron Constantin Launches 18K Yellow Gold 222 Model (TrendHunter.com)

Vacheron Constantin, the oldest Swiss watchmaker in the world, has unveiled a reimagined version of its iconic 1970s sports-luxe 222 timepiece, this time giving the model an 18K yellow gold finish.

The original timepiece was designed by Jorg Hysek in 1977 and arrived as a specialty release to commemorate the brand's 222nd anniversary. Although the watch was discontinued in 1985, it remained a favorite amongst watch collectors around the world.

Now, the new model, which has been added to the brand's Vacheron Constantin’s Historiques line, comes in an all-new finish. The watch features a 37mm 18K 3N yellow gold case and a Calibre 2455/2 automatic, which beats at 4Hz and offers a 40-hour power reserve. In addition, Vacheron has changed the bracelet design to improve comfort while disguising the pins.
